June 28th 2013 (Sat)
I went to Insa-Dong, SamChungDong-Gil and Myeong Dong with my baby cousin.
There was a hot weather warning, but I went out for 'Seoul Tour' anyway...
Here goes how my day went...
Right after you get off from the subway/metro, you will see this gorgeous handmade wall that's decorated by local artists and many other visitors.
You can even see 3D version of MaGirlLee (막걸리) on the wall... lol
Finally, I'm standing at the end/beginning of Insadong-street.
You can see many street artists, foreigners, street advertisementers(?) and festival crews.
Handmade key chain, broaches, hair pins, and cellphone accessories made in Korea.
Let's check out the Ssam-Ji street (쌈지길)
I bought an organic face soap that's good for sensitive skin.
Street art on the walls
Poop-bread.....(?) 똥빵...
I didn't want to try this with 1000won (little less than a dollar)
I went to a small art gallery exhibition
After the exhibition, I found Sil Ta Rae (실타래/궁중타래)!
I bought a box to taste and share with my friends at work.
I bought chocolate TaRae.
This is Tong-In Ga Gae. I really don't know what this building is for... lol
This ice cream shop was packed with people. They filled the soft ice cream in the weird cane corns on the wall.
Insadong has small artistic streets filled with local designers and restaurants.
I had coconut juice on the street : 4000 won (about 3 dollars)
Street artist making organic handkerchiefs.
My cousin and I over walked and decided to take a sit. We decided to think where we will go next, instead of visiting each small streets randomly.
Another photo while we were resting~ lol ;p
Finally we got out from the local streets and walked toward to the main street of Insadong
Because Insadong is representing Korean authentic culture, they posted the Starbucks logi in Korean!
This skewed chicken (kind of Izakaya) place was on the website in title of 'Must go place in SamChungDong-gil'
We ordered one soy sauce (Teriyaki) and red paste (Korean red pepper paste-Gochujang)
each 2,000won
We went to a small café to try Red bean snow (Pat-Bing-Su 팟빙수)
We randomly chose this place but the cafe was very cozy with friendly employees!
We ordered Red bean snow with multi nuts, Peppermint tea (hot) and lemon soda (cold)
We walked toward to Myeongdong and about to pass Chung-Gae Chun (청계천)~
There was a dance(?) festival catching tourists attention.
After doing some shopping in Myeong dong, we went to a fusion restaurant.
We were exhausted by the humid weather and walking too much, however, we ended up talking more then 3 hours and went home by taxi at 2am... lol
Stay tuned for next updates friends~
